Michael Moyle

Principal Software Engineer

BSc (Hons), Computer Science (University of Canterbury)

Winner of Adilam Young Achiever Award in 2005: This award celebrates an employee who has made an outstanding contribution to the success of a high-tech company in NZ.

At Allied Telesis, engineers progress to the role of Specialist Engineer when they demonstrate sufficient knowledge and ability. Mike joined ATL as a Graduate Engineer; now, as a Specialist Software Engineer he is involved with all aspects of the software development process.

Michael says...

"Since starting at Allied Telesis in 2002, I've worked on many different products, primarily focusing on Layer 3 switching technology. In my first year I was involved in a project to improve the performance of one of Allied Telesis's most successful products. This exposed me to software from the core operating system right up to the higher level application code. After just three years I became a Specialist Engineer and in 2006 I was transferred to the Allied Telesis Italian office on secondment.

"My time here has opened up the opportunity to travel, first to Milan and then to Japan, to be part of the Allied Telesis Japan testing team. The direct end-customer contact has helped develop my understanding of how customers use our products, and in turn I can apply this knowledge to future Allied Telesis products."
